Shaun, forty two years of age, had many years in the building trade. While his apprenticeship was served in New Zealand, much of his experience was overseas, amongst which was setting up a major stone masonry firm with two other young men from Alexandra - in London. They employed a large team of men and completed many major stone fixing contracts (one of which was a large block of offices; which was blown up by the IRA, the very day they completed it! The building was rebuilt and they completed the job - again - and it remains standing). They carrried on with other major contracts - including the stone fixing for the Olympic village in Barcelona. Returning to New Zealand, Shaun managed, supervised and worked on the fixing of hefty stones on various projects, including the Auckland Town Hall and the Dunedin Police Station.
Shaun has been with us as a salesperson for seven years. Being a "local boy" he is well known in this district (being a keen footballer in his youth) is popular and has shown real ability in meeting the needs of both sellers and buyers. He is also a hobby farmer with around 1,000 sheep and six hens, and, being a property developer, has valuable experience in that area. While he has residential listings, he has attracted listngs in lifestyle blocks and successfully marketed them - so that significant part of his time is spent on the latter.
